That annual sight of fuzz of blue as you pass by bluebell woods has to be one of the most magical sights. Hertfordshire is lucky to have so many woodlands full with bluebells. One beautiful April morning, I met up with this lovely sweet and funny family in Hitchwood for some family portraits... and Buster the dog came too. We listened for peacocks and woodpeckers, found precioius spiders and explored the woods. Here is their adventure.

I took Esther to a private lake for some portrait shots, the late afternoon light was bright yet beautiful, there were swans, Spring blossom and bokeh. The owner created some interesting blue smoke for us when she strimmed some undergrowth. After being very brave and thinking I'd avoided it I got attacked by a goose. Here are some of my favourite frames.

What a wonderful fun and loving family, I dont need to write anything, just that we went to the amazing and beautiful Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire for a morning of fun. We played games and despite the girls being young ladies, there was a childlike lighthearted feel to the interactions between them. The Chapel was beautiful...such sweet light in there, and a bit of welcome change in light to the very bright and welcome Spring sunshine!

I had a superb time, this a selection of the images taken, please get in touch if you'd like your family spirit captured, what would we do? Leave me your answer in the comments?

I'm lucky to count so many talented artists my friends, and met Alex when I photographed her 18th Birthday party a few years back. Since then I've been a follower and big fan of her work. I'm amazed at the detail she achieves in so many mediums, from prisma colour pencils, oil, mixed media, Promarkers and digital.  Her work is just fabulous, much of it is self portraiture or her willing friends. Me and my camera got to visit her in her studio, she talked me through some of her work, and did a quick sketch too. Shes going far - I know and having just been given an unconditional place at Sheffield Hallam, I can't wait to see what she gets up to in the future. So do check out this blog post, and follow her Facebook page and Instagram to see more and if you are interested in commissions just get in touch.

These pencil drawings with Prisma colour pencils take alot of time to build up the colours, but the results are fantastic.

Every once in a while I have to pinch myself that my work has meant I have met so many amazing people and see a slice of their life.  I'd love to know your thoughts on these pieces, leave me a message in the comments, Im sure Alex will see them too

I love colour, portraiture and an interesting setting....this was one such day. As well as photographing weddings, I offer 1:1 tailored training sessions, for those who want to improve and to hear my view on things like composition, camera settings, directing a model building a cohesive flow of images and just working with a model. This is a recent shoot I organised for one such session and Lucy kindly volunteered to model for me. You can see the results of Lee's images here.

These are the frames I took
