A Daisy Field and Alice

I met up with Alice for a cup of tea and a delicious cake in Halseys, Hitchin, before our portrait shoot.  I gave her a couple of location options, she literally bounced when I suggested a daisy wildflower meadow.  I smiled, knowing her dark hair and eyes and the white dress Alice was wearing would work just beautifully. Location portraits excite me, nature creates such perfect settings, I feel they are there to be enjoyed and made the most of. Alice is a creative media production student, so the idea of a fantastic 'Set' just there for us to use was very exciting.  Her eyes just lit up when we arrived, I knew the enormity of the meadow would wow her and attempted to capture that in the images. It was a windy afternoon, which did present some challenges, but it created some amazing natural shots which gave a relaxed carefree feel.

Even though the fresh greens worked, I opted for a few black and whites which emphasised her beautiful dark contrasting hair.

While I framed my shots, I couldn't stop myself just standing my camera to my side, taking in the whole scene, this massive meadow filled with white bobbing flowers and there amongst it, almost lost but equally beautiful, was Alice.

Alice confessed "Before hand when we were sitting in Halseys I was really quite nervous...but when we actually got there and saw the field it didn't feel like modelling or like there was any pressure for me to do anything special, as Sharon had it all under control"

This was one of the first portrait shoots taken with my Canon 5D Mark III. So many new great features on that camera to enjoy. I loved the handling, the faster shooting speed, the additional AF focus points, the solid feel(weather sealed too!) The LCD screen is gorgeous, even in this bright light I was able to review images without shielding with my hand.

If you want to book me up for a beautiful portrait session, please get in touch, there's nothing I love more.

I love these images. The colour of her hair and red lipstick contrasts perfectly with the daisies and her dress. Gorgeous!

Stunning. Her clothing, hair and make up really suited the white backdrop of that daisy field. This is one of my favourite pieces of your work!
