In the sixteenth century Hitchin was a small market town and one of only two major Lavender growing areas in the country. At its height in the nineteenth century a hundred acres of Lavender were grown around the town and it soon became renowned nationally.  I am so lucky that this amazing location is in my town. Ive enjoyed shooting there for many years, each time something different.  Id invited Charlie, a fellow photographer, to shoot with me.  The four of us, Charlie, Claire,Rosie and I arrived at the fields just past 7pm.  There was still a bit of light and I used reflector to mazimise this.  I also shot with strobes using my wireless triggers, when darkness fell.    Charlie shot in a similar way, but with two larger softbox strobes and some coloured filters too. The sky was moody and the lavender was bright and cheerful. The girls had brought a few outfit changes and we really had a lovely time.
